Christina is a member of staff under the Neuroscience Area since 2018 and she operates in the context of the Molecular Biology Facility.

She is involved with:

  • support and training in molecular biology techniques;
  • support and training with the instruments present in the Molecular Biology Facility;
  • assistance in the design and setting-up of experiments, in particular in the field of transcriptomics;
  • genotyping service;
  • sequencing service;
  • managing stock of common chemical reagents and restriction enzymes.

Christina got a Bachelor degree in Biology and a Masters’s degree in Biomedical Science from the University of Portsmouth (UK).  She went on to work in clinical research at the Department of Clinical Neuroscience at the University of Southampton (UK), before coming to Trieste where she obtained a PhD in Neurobiology at SISSA, in the field of transcriptomics. She has also worked as postdoc in SISSA, as biologist at the Tissue Typing Laboratory of the Tranfusional Unit at Cattinara Hospital and as science communicator at the science museum “Immaginario Scientifico”.
